May Jazz at the Bechtler:

Experience the Ziad Jazz Quartet's musical journey paying tribute to The Final Tour: Bootleg Series Vol. 6, capturing the historic collaboration between jazz icons Miles Davis on trumpet and John Coltrane on saxophone during their 1960 European tour, highlighting the unmatched musical chemistry between the pair. Featuring pieces from Davis's Kind of Blue album, Coltrane's improvisational skills add depth to the music. Released as part of Columbia Legacy's esteemed Bootleg Series, this volume offers fans a rare opportunity to experience the magic of Davis and Coltrane's partnership during a pivotal moment in jazz history. The recordings provide insight into the evolution of both artists' styles and serve as a testament to their enduring influence on the genre.

Explore the peak and the tail end of Davis and Coltrane's musical relationship as revealed in The Final Tour release, where Coltrane's transformative solos and Davis's finesse in a rare sideman role take center stage. The Ziad Jazz Quartet, featuring Ziad Rabie (saxophone), Al Strong (trumpet), Kobie Watkins (drums), Lovell Bradford (piano), and Ron Brendle (bass), brings these jazz legends' legacy to life with dynamic performances navigating through bebop complexities.
