Join us at the Bechtler for The Dream Is Now – Our On The Table CLT Discussion on Wednesday, October 25 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. which will be initiated by Betsy Rosen, Christopher Lawing, BechtlerVice President and Director of Programming, and Jennifer Sudul Edwards, Ph.D., Bechtler Curator.

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) is an Obama-era program that allows some young undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children to avoid deportation. The Trump administration has urged Congress to replace DACA in the next six months, or else these immigrants will be at risk of being deported. This shift in policy directly threatens members of Charlotte’s community. How can we as citizens fix America’s broken immigration system and give these children and families the chance to earn their citizenship? How can we help those in our community feel more secure during this unstable time?

Please join us for a lunch-time conversation around these issues and then, visit the Bechtler’s current exhibition, Maestros mexicanos de la fotografía moderna, to see how photographers over the last century documented Mexico’s exploration of identity post-Mexican Revolution.
